Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Lead Back End Architect/Engineer to drive the evolution of our back-end architecture and data model in a regulated, data-driven environment. You will partner with frontend leadership, DevOps, and data science to strengthen API contracts and improve reliability.

This is a hands-on leadership role demanding technical depth and strong people leadership, with remote US-based placement.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in back-end or full-stack engineering with 2+ years leading a team.
• Experience with data models and access patterns for a B2B/enterprise product at scale.
• Experience collaborating with data science or ML teams to deploy models in production.

Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of the back-end architecture and data model as the platform scales.
• Define and manage API contracts with front-end leadership.
• Direct reliability and performance of back-end services, coordinating with DevOps.
• Partner with data science to implement models and features on the platform.
• Recruit and manage a team of back-end and data engineers and uphold code quality.
