Job summary

Lumen seeks a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to own platform engineering standards across Azure Public and Azure Gov clouds. You will design CI/CD, observability, and secure, highly available services in a fully remote US role, partnering with development teams to deliver scalable infrastructure.

Responsibilities include building AKS clusters, implementing Flux CD, and enforcing security with Key Vault, SBOM, and certificate automation. Strong Azure, IaC, and coding skills required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps/Platform/SRE roles.
• Deep expertise in Azure (Public/Gov) cloud services.
• Hands-on with AKS, Helm 3, Flux CD (GitOps), Docker.
• Experience with Prometheus & Grafana for metrics, alerts, dashboards.
• Proficiency in Nginx and Kong (ingress/API gateway).
• CI/CD automation using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Strong development skills for automation & debugging (Python, Go, or TS).
• Proven IaC experience with Terraform (or Bicep) and secure SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate AKS clusters with enterprise guardrails.
• Implement GitOps with Flux CD; define Helm chart standards.
• Own container platform practices: Docker image standards, SBOM, vulnerability scanning.
• Configure Nginx and Kong ingress, including security features.
• Stand up Prometheus metrics, Grafana dashboards, and SLO/SLA visuals.
• Lead Jenkins pipelines and GitHub Actions workflows with templates.
• Build IaC and policy-as-code pipelines using Terraform or similar.
• Architect secure Azure Key Vault integrations and certificate management.
• Design Azure Networking (VNets, NSGs, Private Link) for hub-spoke models.
• Operate and integrate Azure storage and databases (Blob, Redis, Cosmos, PostgreSQL).
