Job summary

Speechify is seeking a hands-on Android Team Lead to own core product features from idea to release. You'll write code, review peers, and drive end-to-end delivery in a fully distributed, remote team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience including team leadership.
• Strong Kotlin and Android architecture knowledge.
• Experience shipping background audio or long-running tasks.
• Solid testing philosophy and ability to improve tests.
• Proven track record delivering usable features.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from idea to release, in collaboration with design.
• Review PRs and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Unblock the team when blockers arise and guide technical decisions.
• Coordinate with Product, Design, and Engineering early in discussions.
• Deliver nightly builds for QA and ensure reliable releases.
• Mentor junior engineers and grow the team’s capabilities.
• Shift verification left to automate what can be tested automatically.
