Speechify is seeking a Team Lead for our Android app, responsible for ownership of major features end to end while staying hands-on.

You will write and review code, own releases, and mentor engineers while coordinating with Product and Design to push UI/UX beyond the spec.

We are a 100% distributed team, aiming for fast delivery, strong code quality, and clear communication across time zones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with leadership exposure
• Proven Android expertise across Kotlin, MVVM, and architecture patterns
• Experience shipping long-running background work and audio features
• Strong testing mindset and automated QA emphasis
• Proved ability to drive team changes and push for high-impact results
• Track record of delivering features used by the rest of the team

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end and release ownership
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback
• Mentor engineers and help the team grow while shipping fast
