Remote Lead, Android Core Product

Speechify; United States; Remote; USD 120,000 - 180,000; Full time

Job summary

Speechify is a 100% distributed company with no office, building text-to-speech products across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and Web.

We are seeking a Team Lead to own core product work and to raise how the team operates around it. This is a hands-on role where you’ll write code, review code, and own features from idea to release. We value leadership by example, strong communication, and a bias for delivering results quickly.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, working closely with our design team — from the decision through to release.
• Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and give the kind of feedback people learn from, not just approval.
• Unblock the team: notice when someone has been stuck on the same thing for two days, and go take a look yourself.
• Keep the shared pieces in working order — tested and clear enough for someone else to pick up, and consolidate when three versions of the same thing appear.
