Job summary

Qualifications

• Hire PhD with NLP/LLMs focus and 6+ years of related research experience.
• MS with NLP/LLMs focus and 8+ years of related research experience.
• BS with NLP/LLMs focus and 12+ years of related research experience.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and manage independent test and evaluation research programs to protect the public from AI harms.
• Lead competitive research proposals defining scope, methodology, and deliverables to secure funding.
• Serve as principal investigator for NLP and LLM safety programs with accountability for outcomes.
• Apply advanced AI/software engineering concepts to execute research programs.
• Analyze experimental results to identify causes and develop solutions.
• Plan and validate testing procedures and evaluation results.
• Design and run research challenges to advance NLP/LLM community impact.
• Host workshops at leading AI safety conferences to discuss winning methods and results.
• Stay current with literature and conferences to drive safety research.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives within the department.
