Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead AI Engineer - Data Science and Algorithms to join the AI Transformation and Experience team. This hands-on role focuses on designing, building, testing, deploying, and refining production algorithms that impact government programs and enterprise operations.

You will mentor colleagues, translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences, and stay current with AI tech. This remote position offers broad influence across platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional data science or advanced algorithm experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing or building cloud solutions.
• 3+ years of experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related technologies.
• Demonstrated experience developing algorithms including AI/ML.
• Strong understanding of mathematics, AI, and signal processing in production algorithms.
• Experience deploying algorithms on production systems outside notebooks.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• US Citizenship and able to obtain a Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise AI/ML initiatives, selecting tools and methods for production use.
• Design, build, and improve production AI solutions and algorithms.
• Own difficult technical problems from exploration to deployment and operation.
• Write high-quality software and contribute to enterprise capabilities.
• Build AI-enabled apps that integrate data, cloud services, and APIs.
• Mentor staff and promote best practices and reusable components.
