Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Lead AI Engineer to drive the design and governance of a greenfield FinOps AI platform with eight specialized agents in a multi-cloud GCP/AWS setup.

You will oversee architecture, inter-agent communication, and cost-aware LLM operations while ensuring strict security and compliance. Reporting to the Technical Product Manager, you will mentor a team of senior and mid-level engineers, establish standards, and guide the implementation of high-scale autonomous AI services

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in technical leadership building multi-agent AI systems or FinOps/LLM-powered platforms.
• Proficiency in Python 3.11+, FastMCP, FastAPI, and Pydantic; familiarity with Java for integration.
• Experience with Google Cloud (Vertex AI, GCP) and security/governance practices (Zero Trust, RBAC, audit logging).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and orchestration of 8 specialized AI agents within a multi-cloud GCP/AWS environment.
• Enforce LLM governance, tokenomics, and cost controls across the platform.
• Define and enforce security, compliance, and SDLC standards across repositories and APIs.
• mentor senior and mid-level AI engineers and drive RFC-standard error handling and API contracts.
• Oversee integration through the platform’s Action Gateway and external ticketing/tools like Jira/Slack/Teams.
