Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions is seeking a Latvian Video-Phone Interpreter to provide real-time interpretation between Latvian and English speakers via video and audio sessions from a personal device.

You will support healthcare, government, insurance, finance, travel and other sectors, maintain neutrality, and stay professional in a quiet home workspace. The position pays $18–$21 per hour and requires US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Latvian and English; strong cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive topics.
• Preferred background in teaching, translation, or interpretation.
• At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to video and audio interpreting sessions with professional, accurate interpretation.
• Participate in online training and maintain current knowledge of industry protocols.
• Deliver interpretation via video and type data on a dedicated device.
• Speak clearly in both languages, avoiding omissions or additions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and cultural sensitivity during all sessions.
• Remain calm in difficult or emergency situations, such as 911 calls.
• Ensure punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours.
• Follow client instructions and adhere to procedure to protect limited‑English‑speaking persons.
