Job summary

Qualifications

• High School/BA Degree or equivalent in years of experience.
• Medical Interpreting Training School completed.
• Foreign Service Institute training completed.
• Legal Translation online certifications attained.
• Certified Translation Professional (CPT) earned.
• ATA Certification held.
• NAJIT membership or certification is desirable.
• Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) credentials.
• Fluency in one or more listed languages.

Responsibilities

• Accurately translate spoken work situations like lectures, conversations, and meetings.
• Transcribe spoken English using technology where required.
• Read original documents and translate into target language.
• Edit translated versions for accuracy.
• Be culturally sensitive and impartial during translation.
• Other duties as assigned.
