Job summary

Fehr Graham Engineering & Environmental is seeking a Land Survey CAD Technician in Rockford, IL to support survey and civil engineering teams. You will prepare accurate survey drawings, maps and exhibits for municipal and development projects.

The role requires 4+ years of survey CAD experience, proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and familiarity with field data interpretation, standards, and coordinate systems. Offices in Illinois with potential remote work opportunities are available.

Qualifications

Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent training in surveying tech/drafting preferred.
4+ years of survey CAD experience; strong technical CAD production skills considered.

Responsibilities

Develop existing conditions plans, base maps, ALTA and boundary surveys, plats and legal exhibits.
Create digital terrain models, surfaces, contours, and breaklines from field data.
Prepare survey deliverables for municipal, transportation, roadway, utility, commercial and residential projects.
Assist with subdivision plats, easement exhibits and construction staking calculations.
Review field notes, control reports, and survey calculations for accuracy.
Coordinate survey information with civil design teams to maintain drawing consistency.
Apply CAD standards, templates, layers, and file organization.
