Job summary

Fehr Graham is seeking a Land Survey CAD Technician in Rockford, IL to support survey and civil engineering teams. You will turn field data into accurate drawings, maps and exhibits to move municipal, transportation and utility projects forward.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of survey CAD experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer is a plus. The role offers remote flexibility within Illinois and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent training in surveying technology or related field preferred.
4+ years of survey CAD experience, strong technical CAD production skills considered.
Proficiency with CAD standards, field notes interpretation, and surveying records.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate survey drawings, maps and technical documents.
Develop existing conditions plans, ALTA/boundary surveys and exhibits.
Create DTMs, surfaces and breaklines from field data.
Prepare deliverables for municipal, transportation, utilities and residential projects.
Assist with plats, easements and construction staking calculations.
Review field notes and control reports for accuracy.
Coordinate survey data with design teams to keep drawings consistent.
Apply CAD templates, layers and file organization per standards.
Research deeds, plats, right-of-way documents and GIS data.
Manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines with QC reviews.
