Job summary

Fehr Graham is seeking a Land Survey CAD Technician in Rockford, IL, to support survey and civil engineering teams. You will prepare accurate survey drawings, maps, and technical documents for municipal, transportation, utility, and development projects.

You will collaborate with professional land surveyors, field crews, engineers and project managers, transforming field data into clear deliverables and ensuring CAD standards are followed. Remote work within Illinois is possible.

Qualifications

• An associate degree, certificate or equivalent training in surveying technology, civil engineering technology, drafting or a related field is preferred.
• We are looking for someone with 4+ years of survey CAD experience.
• Strong CAD production and technical skills are valued.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate survey drawings, maps and technical documents for a range of municipal, transportation, utility and development projects.
• Develop existing conditions plans, base maps, ALTA and boundary surveys, plats and legal exhibits.
• Create digital terrain models, surfaces, contours and breaklines from field data.
• Coordinate survey information with civil engineering and land survey teams to keep drawings consistent.
• Apply CAD standards, templates, layers and file organization.
