Job summary

Global Impact Group LLC is seeking Karen Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. The Karen languages (S'gaw and Pwo) are essential for asylum and immigration interviews. Remote work is available through secure USCIS-approved systems.

You will provide real-time Karen-English telephonic interpretation, maintain confidentiality, and participate in training and quality reviews. Native or near-native Karen and English fluency, and 2+ years of interpreting experience are

Qualifications

• Native or near-native Karen and English fluency.
• Minimum 2 years of professional interpreting experience.
• Strong cultural knowledge of Karen-speaking communities.
• Familiarity with interpreter ethics, neutrality and confidentiality.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/5 clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time Karen-English telephonic interpretation.
• Deliver accurate, impartial interpretations in immigration, asylum, and legal contexts.
• Maintain confidentiality per USCIS/DHS standards.
• Manage scheduled and urgent/surge calls.
• Participate in training and quality assurance reviews.
