Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a remote Educational Interpreter to provide real-time virtual interpreting for deaf and hard-of-hearing students across subjects. You will facilitate communication between students and educators, interpret lectures, and adapt signing styles to individual goals.

Collaborate with teachers, TOD/DHH, and specialists, participate in IEP meetings, and ensure confidentiality under FERPA. 1099 contractor with flexible scheduling, 100% remote work.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Sign Language Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field from an accredited program.
• EIPA score 4.0+ (or 3.5+ with state approval) or RID/NIC/CI/CT or BEI certification.
• Compliance with Alaska DEED interpreter qualifications.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in K-12 interpreting or tele-interpretation preferred.
• Fluency in ASL, PSE, and/or CASE; strong communication and time-management skills.
• Comfort with video conferencing and remote visual tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time virtual educational interpreting for deaf and hard-of-hearing students across subjects.
• Facilitate expressive and receptive communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers.
• Interpret classrooms, lectures, multimedia content, assemblies, and announcements.
• Adapt signing style to student development level and goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, TOD/DHH, case managers, and speech-language pathologists.
• Participate in IEP meetings and related conferences.
