New Energy Equity in Annapolis, MD, is seeking a Jr. Renewable Energy Project Developer- Distributed Generation to advance solar projects from early development to construction readiness.

You will coordinate with engineering, interconnection, legal, real estate, and finance teams, track milestones, and assist with permitting and stakeholder communications. Open to remote work for qualified candidates, with hybrid preferred for candidates near our offices in Annapolis, Boulder, Roseville, or

Qualifications

• No degree required; 2+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy, real estate, project development, permitting, environmental review, engineering, finance, or related field preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel periodically to project sites and stakeholder meetings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Support distributed solar projects from early-stage development through construction readiness.
• Coordinate with internal teams to gather inputs and ensure timely project advancement.
• Maintain schedules, budgets, risk logs, action trackers, and milestone updates.
• Assist in preparing materials for internal approvals and investment decisions.
• Track incentive programs, interconnection requirements, and regulatory updates.
• Support land use permitting, zoning approvals, and environmental permitting processes.
• Maintain project documentation, trackers, and data rooms for financing and development.
• Assist with project financing materials and responses to information requests.
