Job summary

New Energy Equity in Annapolis, MD, seeks an experienced Development Engineering Team Leader to drive strategic direction, mentorship, and growth within a growing solar engineering group.

You will recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team, establish design standards, optimize workflows, and collaborate across land, interconnection, permitting, real estate, and finance to deliver successful projects.

Qualifications

• 8 years or more of directly related experience in engineering, engineering management, and/or related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• NABCEP Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to the development engineering team and foster a high-performing work environment.
• Oversee recruitment and talent acquisition to build a skilled engineering team.
• Implement training programs and support career progression for team members.
• Identify and develop high-potential individuals for future leadership roles.
• Lead performance management through regular check-ins and semi-annual evaluations.
• Coordinate quarterly on-site planning and team-building activities.
