Job summary
Placements24's client, a dynamic law firm in Paarl, Western Cape, seeks an ambitious Junior Associate to join their growing corporate and commercial practice. You will work closely with senior attorneys on matters such as company formations, mergers and acquisitions, governance, and commercial contracts, gaining hands-on experience in a remote setting.
A newly qualified or early-career lawyer with admission to the High Court of South Africa, strong academics, and excellent drafting and research
Qualifications
- Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
- Strong academic record with interest in corporate/commercial law.
- Excellent research, analytical and drafting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work remotely and use virtual collaboration tools.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements (shareholder, JV, service contracts).
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on corporate issues.
- Support due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
- Assist with company secretarial duties (board minutes, resolutions).
- Handle general corporate law matters and client support under supervision.
- Review legal documents for accuracy and compliance.
