Job summary

The University of Wisconsin Press Journals Division seeks a detail-oriented Financial Specialist I to manage subscriptions, assist with reconciliations, and support reporting. You will work with libraries, subscription agents, and internal staff to maintain current subscriptions and develop new business opportunities.

This part-time role (32 hours/week) offers flexible scheduling and remote work, with UW–Madison offices available. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a wide variety of audiences.
• Demonstrated record of effectively prioritizing multiple tasks, accomplishing all in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Drafts basic communications and reports and maintains organization of varied records to provide administrative support within a specified work unit (25%)
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues in a timely and professional manner (10%)
• Provides exceptional customer service, answering questions in a specific subject area to internal and external customers based on set materials and standards (10%)
• Audits or reconciles original purchase documents with payments (15%)
• Audits or processes transactions and assigns funding codes in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies (30%)
• Answers general fiscal questions and provides information based on set materials and standards to various audiences (10%)
