Peraton is looking for a Software Engineer who will support the development of a modernization framework while enhancing two existing business applications. This fully remote role is suited for an individual with foundational knowledge in J2EE and AI, eager to learn modern development practices.

Key responsibilities include maintaining Java components, implementing APIs, and supporting debugging activities. A degree or equivalent experience in the field is preferred.

The target salary range is $51,000 - $82,000, with a comprehensive benefits package. Peraton is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 0 years with BS/BA; 4 years of experience with HS Diploma/equivalent.
• Able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Experience with AI development.
• Cloud development experience preferred.
• Must have experience developing Java EE applications on WebLogic Application Server.
• High-level knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining Java-based components within the modernization framework.
• Support refactoring efforts for legacy components under senior developer guidance.
• Participate in implementing APIs, integrations, and backend services.
• Write clean, maintainable code following defined coding standards.
• Assist in documenting technical requirements and application architecture updates.
• Perform basic unit testing and assist with debugging activities.
• Collaborate with mid-level and senior developers during design sessions.
