Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a backend software engineer to join a Medicaid Drug Program project. You will design, build, and maintain backend services and data interfaces using Java and Spring Boot, with PostgreSQL for storage and data management.

You will also contribute to drug utilization tools, lead automated testing practices, and participate in Agile ceremonies while working fully remote within the US.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Java programming ability with Spring Boot.
• Solid database design and data modeling skills.
• Ability to read and safely change a large codebase you did not write.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience writing automated tests in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain services and interfaces behind the platform using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Work with PostgreSQL for efficient data storage, retrieval, and management.
• Contribute to the next version of the program's drug utilization review tools.
• Help lead the team's automated testing practice, including unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in the production system.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code aligning with the team's coding standards, and offer constructive feedback through code review.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and quarterly planning across teams.
