Job summary

Cognitive, an IT and software engineering services firm, seeks a mid-level Java/AWS developer for the DDPS/PRS team to build features, fix defects, and contribute to sprint delivery in an Agile setting.

The role is remote but restricted to US states VA, DC, MD, TN, FL, AZ, CO, OR, and TX, with CI/CD via GitHub/Jenkins/Snyk. You’ll support government healthcare solutions with robust software engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 4+ years of Java development.
• Solid Java development skills with production feature delivery.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting and support.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source control like GitHub/Jenkins.
• Ability to pass CMS and internal background checks for public trust.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain DDPS/PRS features and fixes.
• Deliver code through CMS CI/CD pipeline and maintain tests.
• Write unit tests with Pytest/Unit Test and FitNesse.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and maintain documentation.
