Job summary

WEX, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer 2 (Java 17+) to help modernize the Digital Credit Application and build a high-performance API layer.

You will be a backend specialist focused on scalable microservices and clean integration with third-party services. You will migrate Salesforce workflows to cloud-native components, design REST APIs, ensure data integrity between PostgreSQL and Salesforce, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines with JUnit/Mockito tests.

Qualifications

• Strong backend experience with Java 17+ and Spring ecosystem.
• Experience designing scalable RESTful services and APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and relational/noSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Migrate Salesforce-based logic into cloud-native services with minimal disruption.
• Design clean, developer-friendly REST APIs for multi-channel frontends.
• Implement modular adjudication components for third-party integrations.
• Ensure data integrity between PostgreSQL and Salesforce using event-driven patterns.
• Write test-first code (JUnit/Mockito) and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
