Job summary

WEX, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to modernize the Digital Credit Application with a fast, scalable API layer. You will contribute as a backend specialist focused on Java 17+ and Spring Boot, building a robust microservices stack and driving a cloud-native migration strategy.

Responsibilities include API design, integration with third-party bureaus, and ensuring data integrity across PostgreSQL and Salesforce. Strong testing, CI/CD, and collaboration skills are required.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of backend software development experience.
• Deep hands-on Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Proven ability to design and scale RESTful services.
• Experience with AWS services and relational/noSQL databases.
• Practical experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Feature Development: build scalable microservices with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Migration Support: move Salesforce logic into cloud-native services.
• API Craftsmanship: design clean REST APIs for multi-channel frontends.
• Pluggable Logic: implement modular adjudication components for third-party integration.
• Data Integrity: ensure data synchronization across PostgreSQL and Salesforce.
• Quality & Testing: write test-first code and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
