Job summary

WEX, Inc. is hiring a Software Development Engineer 2 to help modernize the Digital Credit Application with high-performance Java 17+ microservices.

You will drive the API layer, migrate Salesforce logic, and build modular adjudication components for integrating with credit bureaus and risk engines. You will work on cloud-native architectures, ensure data integrity with event-driven patterns, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of backend software development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java and Spring framework experience.
• Experience designing and scaling RESTful services.
• Cloud and database experience (AWS, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with asynchronous messaging (Kafka or RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Maven/Gradle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Migrate business logic from Salesforce into cloud-native services.
• Build and document clean REST APIs for multi-channel frontends.
• Implement modular Adjudication components for third-party integrations.
• Ensure data synchronization between PostgreSQL and Salesforce via events.
• Write test-first code and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
