Job summary

United Church Homes is seeking an IT Technician to maintain IT assets across long-term care, affordable housing, and community locations. You will support end-users with hardware/software installation, training, and troubleshooting while ensuring network connectivity and asset inventory.

The role requires strong knowledge of operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Workday, and PointClickCare, plus two+ years of related experience and an associate degree.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (two-year college or technical school) or equivalent experience required.
• Two or more years of related IT experience.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems and various types of applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical end-user support for hardware, software, and training.
• Provide hardware and cabling support for network equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and software.
• Evaluate end-users' computer needs and implement adjustments.
• Assist with establishing network and printer connections.
• Install software packages (OS, Microsoft Suite, antivirus).
• Replace or update defective or outdated software.
• Research solutions to recurring issues.
• Maintain computer and network inventory.
• Collaborate with contracted service personnel for hardware repairs.
• Participate in weekly on-call rotation with IT technicians.
• Consult with IT Services on budget for equipment/software.
• Attend department meetings and communicate with IT staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
