Job summary

University of North Texas in Denton is seeking a System Administrator to provide Tier 2 Service Desk support for CAS IT's units, working from a shared queue and delivering in-person assistance on campus and Discovery Park.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree plus three years of computing experience, strong independent work capability, and knowledge of Windows, MacOS, or Linux environments. Typical schedule is M-F with flexibility for occasional after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Three years of related computing work experience or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and handle diverse technical needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides phone and walk-in based support to faculty and staff across CAS IT's supported units via Amazon Connect.
• Resolves tickets from the shared ServiceNow queue prioritizing by severity and FIFO within each priority.
• Offers in-person technical support at worksites across main campus and Discovery Park.
• Documents, installs, maintains, and decommissions devices and software for faculty, staff and labs.
• Supports research labs, clinics, and departmental lab setups, documenting exceptions to standard configurations.
• Assesses and escalates tickets outside scope without needing prior approval.
• Supports CAS IT with special projects and occasional off-hours work.
