Job summary

The County of El Dorado is seeking an experienced Information Technology Supervisor to organize, supervise, and evaluate IT staff across multiple technology areas in Placerville, CA. The role focuses on complex enterprise systems, network, server/cloud, and/or telecommunications, with emphasis on staff development and process improvement.

Ideal candidates will have 7 years of multi‑discipline IT experience, including project leadership, plus a bachelor’s in CS/IS or related field.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field AND Seven (7) years of experience working in one or more of the following fields: systems analysis, systems engineering, programming, data or database administration or analysis, operating systems, office systems, network analysis or management or similar field, in a multi-platform information systems environment. At least one year shall include project management and lead direction of staff;
• Three (3) years of experience at the level equivalent to the County’s class of Information Technology Analyst III.
• Three (3) years of experience at the level equivalent to the County’s class of Information Technology Analyst II or Application Analyst II as a Project/Team Leader.
• Three (3) years of experience at the level equivalent to the County’s class of Information Customer Service III as a Project/Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Supervise a vendor application support team and manage third‑party platforms.
• Create and maintain key operational tools like dashboards, workflows, test scripts, and access-control logs.
• Demonstrate strong methods for managing system access, performing audits, resolving access issues, and coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures, staff development plans, and resource budgeting to achieve organizational goals.
