Qualifications

• Equivalent to an Associate of Arts degree with major coursework in social services, psychology or a related field.
• Two years of experience in social service program eligibility determinations or program support at a level equivalent to Program Assistant.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop program goals and ensure implementation and compliance with funding agency requirements; participate in budget development.
• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operation of varied senior and family services programs.
• Provide day-to-day direction, training staff and volunteers; evaluate work procedures.
• Maintain fiscal records and prepare reports; ensure spending is within contractual limitations.
• Direct receipt and review of program applications and determinations.
• Design and implement outreach activities and referrals to reach target populations.
• Evaluate program effectiveness; recommend policy and procedural changes.
• Writer and edit educational materials such as fliers, brochures, and newsletters.
• Counsel and advise applicants and make appropriate referrals to community resources.
• Collaborate with local agencies; present to groups to promote departmental services.
