Job summary

Alpaca, a US-headquartered global leader in brokered infrastructure, is seeking an IT Security Engineer to own security standards protecting identities, endpoints, and critical systems. The role focuses on IAM/SSO, MFA, device posture, email security, and incident response, with collaboration across IT, DevOps, and the wider Security team.

The Security Team is 100% distributed and remote. If you are passionate about security, have 3+ years of experience, and can translate security requirements

Qualifications

• 3+ years in IT security or security engineering roles.
• Hands-on with identity provider and SSO (SAML/OIDC).
• Experience enforcing phishing-resistant MFA (FIDO2) and hardware keys.
• Scripting or automation experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain IAM and SSO standards across cloud and SaaS.
• Own MFA standards and enforce phishing-resistant methods.
• Maintain privileged access standards and reviews.
• Lead identity and endpoint security incident response.
• Collaborate with IT and Security on detections and playbooks.
• Triage phishing reports and coordinate takedowns.
