Job summary

Alpaca is seeking an IT Security Engineer to own security standards protecting workforce identities, endpoints, and critical systems. You will manage IAM, SSO, MFA, and email security, partnering with IT and security teams to enforce controls.

The role is fully remote, supporting a distributed global team. You will drive measurable security improvements and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in IT security or security engineering.
• Hands-on with an identity provider and SSO (SAML/OIDC).
• Experience enforcing phishing-resistant MFA (e.g., FIDO2).
• Experience with endpoint detection and response tooling.
• Ability to script or automate (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain security standards for IAM, SSO, and access controls.
• Own MFA and phishing-resistant authentication across services.
• Maintain privileged-access standards and access reviews.
• Lead identity, endpoint, and email aspects of security incidents.
