Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for a hybrid role in Dallas, TX (Remote/Au stin, TX possible). The position supports RMF/ATO processes, DoC policies, and security assessment documentation for Department of Commerce systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with DIACAP/RMF, eMASS, and NIST 800-53 controls, plus relevant security certifications. A practical, results-driven approach and strong writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5+ years experience as IA/ISSE/ISSO or similar in ATO package development.
• eMASS experience.
• Security certifications such as CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CompTIA Security+ CE, SSCP or higher.
• Strong Word/Excel publishing skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Review systems to identify potential security weaknesses and recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes, and document upgrades.
• Maintain responsibility for managing cybersecurity risk from an organizational perspective.
• Identify risks, prioritize them, and maintain a risk registry for escalation to senior leadership.
• Provide security guidance and IS validation using NIST RMF, DoC, and local policies.
• Coordinate changes with ISSM, SCA, and AO for CM and security controls.
