Job summary

CGS seeks an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with DIACAP/RMF experience to support DoC systems and achieve Authorization to Operate (ATO). Located at the Herbert Hoover building in Washington, DC, the role covers full lifecycle A&A management across RMF steps, conducting security assessment and oversight for DoC systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years IA/ISSE/ISSO or similar in ATO package development.
• Experience with DIACAP and RMF lifecycle; security documentation development.

Responsibilities

• Review systems to identify security weaknesses and recommend improvements.
• Maintain responsibility for cybersecurity risk from an organizational perspective.
• Identify risks, maintain a risk registry, and present to senior leadership.
• Provide security guidance using NIST RMF, DoC policies.
• Coordinate CM changes with ISSM, SCA, and AO.
• Maintain vulnerability scanning tool compliance (HBSS/ACAS) and patch management.
• Support DIACAP to RMF transition in DoC.
• Provide SME guidance for cyber security policy and assessments.
• Draft risk assessments with thresholds, evaluation, and scoring.
• Advise on mitigation strategies for security findings.
