Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with DIACAP/RMF experience to support DoC systems and achieve Authorization to Operate (ATO). The role, located at the Herbert Hoover Building in Washington, DC, covers full life-cycle A&A management across RMF6 steps, conducting security assessments and oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years experience as IA Analyst/ISSE/ISSO or similar in ATO package development.
• eMASS experience.
• Security certifications such as CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CompTIA Security+ CE, SSCP, or higher.
• Strong desktop publishing and MS Word/Excel skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Review systems to identify security weaknesses and document upgrades.
• Maintain responsibility for managing cybersecurity risk from an organizational perspective.
• Identify organizational risks, prioritize risks, and maintain a risk registry for escalation to senior leadership.
• Provide security guidance and IS validation using NIST RMF, DoC, and local policies.
• Provide CM recommendations for information system security software/hardware/firmware and coordinate changes with ISSM/SCA/AO.
• Maintain vulnerability scanning tool compliance (HBSS/ACAS) and patch management to ensure patches are applied.
• Support security authorization activities, including transitioning from DIACAP to DoC RMF.
• Provide SME guidance for cyber security and trusted system technology.
• Develop risk assessment reports including thresholds, evaluation and scoring.
• Support findings analysis and mitigation guidance for complex problems.
