Job summary

Commence is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to own security assessment, authorization, and continuous-monitoring for federal programs. You will collaborate with the CIO, Cybersecurity Engineers, and Compliance Analysts to ensure systems remain authorized and compliant across CMS, VA, DoD, IRS, and DHS agencies.

The role requires leadership in security control implementations, risk assessments, and incident response planning, with remote work and occasional travel to ensure

Qualifications

• 5+ years of information assurance or cybersecurity experience, including 3+ years as an ISSO or A&A lead for federal information systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with RMF/NIST SP 800-37/800-53 and agency GRC tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ISSO for assigned federal systems and liaison to agency ISSOs and Authorizing Officials.
• Execute Risk Management Framework activities: authorization, continuous monitoring, and POA&M management.
• Prepare and maintain SSPs, risk assessments, and contingency plans; coordinate with CIO/ISSM and Compliance Analysts.
