Job summary

Commence is seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to own security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for federal systems. The ISSO collaborates with the CIO, Cybersecurity Engineers, Compliance Analysts, and project teams to ensure compliant, secure operations across CMS, VA, DoD/DHA, IRS, and DHS programs.

The role requires at least 5+ years in information assurance, 3+ years as ISSO/A&A lead, and active security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA,

Qualifications

5+ years information assurance or cybersecurity experience, incl. 3+ years as ISSO/A&A lead for federal info systems.
Experience with RMF and NIST SP 800-171/CMMC
Comfort with reading vulnerability/ configuration scan output and translating findings to remediation tasks.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain federal Public Trust suitability.

Responsibilities

Serve as ISSO for assigned federal systems and liaison to agency ISSOs and officials.
Lead security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring lifecycle (NIST RMF).
Develop, maintain SSP, risk assessments, and POA&Ms; coordinate with CIO/ISSM.
