Job summary

CATHEXIS is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer for remote, part-time work through December 31, 2026, based in Tysons, VA. The role focuses on designing and implementing advanced instructional systems for supply chain management professionals, leveraging ADDIE/SAM, LMS platforms, and modern e-learning tools.

You will collaborate with SMEs and project leads to develop measurable objectives, assess training effectiveness, and ensure timely delivery while staying current with industry best

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 8+ years with BA/BS, 3+ years with MS/MA, 1+ year with PhD (as stated)
• Expertise in adult learning theories and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM) used to create scalable learning solutions
• Experience with LMS, e-learning tools, and virtual classrooms to deliver engaging training programs

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing course content and SME materials to ensure alignment with adult learning principles and objectives
• Assess training needs and outcomes to measure effectiveness and identify improvements
• Revise or redevelop established course design artifacts
• Develop measurable SMART objectives aligned with Bloom's Taxonomy and learning outcomes
• Collaborate with SMEs, program leads, and other developers to deliver training projects
• Track progress and communicate risks and mitigation strategies to avoid delays
• Stay updated on instructional design trends and educational technologies
