Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a Publishing Support Specialist within the Publishing Services Department to support IP clearance for Hymns for Home and Church products. This role partners with IPO, CorEval, PMs, and publishing stakeholders to review and facilitate IP approvals.

The ideal candidate has legal or paralegal experience, is detail‑oriented, and proficient with project management tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least two years of relevant experience; an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience totaling at least six years may be considered.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with a variety of partners.
• Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and commitment to achieving results.
• Ability to analyze complex information and make well-reasoned recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work effectively under pressure, and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess intellectual property, rights management, and content-clearance issues related to music projects.
• Analyze supporting documentation and prepare clear, accurate IP reports and recommendations.
• Facilitate the review and approval of hymns for IP clearance.
• Identify potential rights, content, or clearance concerns that could affect project timelines or deliverables, and provide project owners and producers with guidance and practical alternatives.
• Apply IPO expectations and established review practices to promote quality, consistency, and efficiency across projects.
• Develop subject‑matter expertise in IP review and become a trusted resource for project teams.
• Support the selection, preparation, and execution of agreements with varying rights and terms.
• Use workflow systems, project management tools, and emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to support evaluation, documentation, analysis, and process improvement.
• Review work completed by other Production Support Specialists and, as assigned, coordinate or oversee the work of Intellectual Property Assistants or Production Support Specialists.
