Job summary

Sony Music Entertainment seeks a Coordinator, Intellectual Property Licensing to support the IP Licensing Department's administrative and project needs. You will assist in clearance, licensing, and royalty processes for a wide range of products, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.

The role requires at least 1 year in copyright administration, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 1 year of copyright administration or related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor release schedules and initiate clearance work as needed.
• Gather product information (label copy, video cue sheets) from departments.
• Verify songwriter and publisher ownership splits.
• Manage writer administration changes with publishers and obtain details.
• Research and confirm writer credits for projects.
• Provide status updates on clearance and licensing to leads and analysts.
• Maintain royalty accounts, including W-9 collection and vendor maintenance.
• Update payment statuses for songwriters, publishers, and products.
• Calculate basic copyright royalty rates and support negotiation of reduced rates.
• Process licenses for physical, digital, and mobile products; review and execute licenses.
• Monitor bulk licensing processes and respond to publisher inquiries.
• Register new recordings and products with US Copyright Office.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
