Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a Publishing Support Specialist for the Publishing Services Department to support IP efforts for Hymns for Home and Church. The role collaborates with IPO, CorEval, project managers, production coordinators, and translation/publishing stakeholders to review and facilitate IP clearance.

The ideal candidate has legal or paralegal experience, detail-oriented research skills, and comfort with project management tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with at least two years of relevant IP/paralegal experience or six years combined education/experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse partners.
• Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment and results-driven.
• Ability to analyze complex information and make well-reasoned recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility and reliability in supporting schedules and changing needs.
• Comfort learning and using project management software, workflow systems, and other tech tools.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess IP, rights management, and content-clearance issues related to music projects.
• Analyze supporting documentation and prepare clear IP reports and recommendations.
• Facilitate the review and approval of hymns for IP clearance.
• Identify potential rights, content, or clearance concerns that could affect timelines and provide guidance to project owners.
• Apply IPO expectations and established practices to promote quality and efficiency across projects.
• Develop subject-matter expertise in IP review and become a trusted resource for project teams.
• Support the selection, preparation, and execution of agreements with varying rights and terms.
• Use workflow systems, PM tools, and AI tech to support evaluation, documentation, analysis, and process improvements.
• Review work of others and coordinate or oversee work of IP Assistants or Production Support Specialists.
