Job summary

Harbor is seeking a Research Specialist to join its Library and Research Department. This full-time, remote role accepts candidates nationwide in the United States.

The position focuses on delivering high-quality legal research and retrieval services for Harbor’s law firm clients. The ideal candidate will have IP research experience and familiarity with tools such as Darts-IP, LexisNexis TotalPatent One, Derwent Innovation, and USPTO databases.

Qualifications

• MLS or equivalent legal research experience; JD preferred.
• 5–7 years of professional research experience in a law-focused environment.
• Strong use of Lexis, Westlaw, and core legal research platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth legal, business, and other research using diverse resources.
• Synthesize findings into clear, actionable reports.
• Evaluate sources for currency, reliability, relevance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain expertise across legal, business, legislative, analytics, and docket resources.
• Utilize tracking software to manage research tasks efficiently.
• Stay updated on legal research developments through professional involvement.
