Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal to support a busy IP practice across patent matters. You will assist with docketing, filing, portfolio management, and maintenance of patent applications, coordinating with foreign offices as needed.

The role involves supporting patent prosecution, researching PTO records, and assisting in IP-related litigation. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years intellectual property paralegal experience, patent experience preferred.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or biotech patent prosecution is preferred.
• Associate’s degree required; BA and/or ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred.
• Significant legal experience may substitute for formal education.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a full range of patent matters for a busy IP practice.
• Prepare status reports for attorneys and clients.
• Coordinate international filings and foreign filings timelines.
• Work with docketing team to track due dates for responses and renewals.
• Assist with IP-related litigation, oppositions, and inter partes proceedings.
• Learn and apply AI tools to support patent portfolio management.
