Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP seeks an experienced IP Paralegal to support a busy patent practice. You will assist with docketing, file management, PTO communications, and international filings, partnering with attorneys to manage portfolios.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years in IP paralegal roles, with pharma/life sciences patent experience; a paralegal certificate or a BA/BS preferred. Remote option available; strong organization and attention to detail required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years intellectual property paralegal experience preferred.
• Experience with pharmaceutical, life sciences, and/or biotech patent prosecution.
• Filing of sequence listings and multi‑jurisdictional portfolio management may be required.
• Significant, substantive legal related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, docketing, electronic filing, portfolio management and maintenance of patent applications.
• Draft responses to PTO actions and oppositions and assist in IP litigation related tasks.
• Coordinate international filings with foreign offices and ensure due dates are tracked.
• Mentor junior paralegals or assistants as needed.
• Engage with clients occasionally and support attorney needs.
