Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking an Intellectual Property Paralegal to support a busy IP practice. The role involves docketing, electronic filing, portfolio management, and maintenance of patent applications across multiple jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of IP paralegal experience, with preferred exposure to pharmaceutical or biotech patent prosecution. A related degree or ABA-approved certificate is desired; substantial experience may substitute for education.

Qualifications

• 5+ years intellectual property paralegal experience, patent experience preferred.
• Experience with pharmaceutical, life sciences, and/or biotech patent prosecution is preferred.
• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s/Paralegal Certificate preferred.
• Substantial experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Responsibilities

• Research and compile information pertaining to national and international intellectual property rights.
• Prepare status reports for attorneys and clients.
• Coordinate international filings with foreign law offices and other entities.
• Docket due dates for actions and filings; manage patent annuities in foreign jurisdictions.
• Assist in IP litigation, oppositions, and related proceedings.
• Draft pleadings and responses for PTO actions and oppositions.
