Job summary

Xsensus LLP is seeking an Intellectual Property Legal Assistant to support IP specialists with patent prosecution tasks and filing at the USPTO. This remote U.S. role emphasizes accuracy, document management, client communications, and collaboration with attorneys and staff.

Qualifications

• Understanding of US patent prosecution rules is preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other legal software as needed.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in the legal industry, IP/Patent/Trademark is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support IP Specialists with preparation and filing of USPTO documents (applications, formality documents, Office Actions responses, IDS).
• Interface with firm administrative management and legal professionals daily to ensure timely duties.
• Assist with accounting and billing as assigned.
• Manage electronic files and documents using firm software.
• Handle confidential client emails and correspondence with professional language.
• Prepare documents and correspondence and outward client communications.
• Take on special projects as assigned.
