Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking a Remote Inpatient Coder responsible for assigning diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS. You will monitor bill hold reports and collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists to ensure accurate MSDRG assignments.

Flexible remote engagement with standard business hours. Preferred candidates have at least 4 years of acute care inpatient coding, trauma experience, and CCS credential, with strong communication skills and proficiency in 3M and EPIC

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Four (4) years recent acute care hospital Inpatient Coding and abstracting experience.
• Recent Level I OR II Trauma experience.
• Extensive knowledge with recent 3M 360 and EPIC software.
• CCS Credential required.
• Strong communication (written/verbal).
• Experience writing queries; technically savvy.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Monitor bill hold reports.

Job description

Remote Inpatient CoderThe remote Inpatient Coder is responsible for assigning diagnosis and procedural code using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems and monitors bill hold reports. Serves as a liaison to Clinical documentation Specialists for ICD-10 inpatient encounters for accurate code and MSDRG assignments. Communicate with the Workforce Manager when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned. Extensive knowledge of 3M encoder, EPIC electronic health record is required. Must have a minimum 4 years recent acute care inpatient coding experience. Comfortable with hitting a 95% accuracy or better and hitting productivity standards. Knowledge of medical/surgical terminology.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four (4) years recent acute care hospital Inpatient Coding and abstracting experience.
• Recent Level I OR II Trauma experience.
• Extensive knowledge with recent 3M 360 and EPIC software.
• CCS Credential required.
• Strong communication (written/verbal)Must have experience in writing queriesMust be technically savvy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years academic acute care inpatient coding experience.

Working Hours Needed:

• M – F 8hrs per day, 40hrs a week, during standard business hoursFlexible hours during training and prebill review process
