Job summary

Vital Care Infusion Services is seeking a Remote Medical Billing Specialist to process referrals, review patient files for accuracy, and submit claims to payers. You will identify revenue opportunities, reduce denial rates, and ensure timely reimbursements across payer types.

The role requires 2+ years in intake/medical billing/collections and infusion therapy experience, with strong MS Office and pharmacy-application skills. Company-paid holidays, PTO, and growth opportunities included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with specialized training in intake, pharmacy/medical billing, and/or collections.
• Two years’ Intake, Medical Billing, and/or Collections experience required.
• Two years of home infusion therapy is required.
• Coding Course Certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient files for completeness and accuracy, identify and audit claims, ensure revenue opportunities are included, and submit primary and secondary billing to payers for reimbursement.
• Communicate status of order intake with franchise partners and other departments.
• Document activity and correspondence in the system; schedule follow-ups as required.
• Investigate and verify benefits for pharmacy and medical third-party claims.
• Obtain prior authorizations; follow up to provide required information and track progress.
• Track, report, and elevate service issues delaying authorizations or care.
• Explain therapy costs to patients before starting service.
• Assist with training materials and procedures to improve RCM team efficiency.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
