Job summary

Actalent is seeking a contract-to-hire Insurance Verification Specialist to support a remote, fully remote role based out of Chattanooga, TN. The position focuses on verifying benefits, identifying patient financial responsibility, and obtaining prior authorizations for specialty medications and therapies.

The ideal candidate will have experience with EMR documentation, payer communications, and knowledge of various plans (HMO, PPO, Medicare/Medicaid).

Qualifications

• Experience verifying insurance benefits and coverage.
• Ability to identify patient financial responsibility (copays, deductibles, coinsurance).
• Experience with obtaining prior authorizations for specialty meds/therapies.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' insurance benefits and coverage.
• Review and identify patient financial responsibility (copays, deductibles, coinsurance).
• Create Insurance Benefit Summaries (IBS) when needed.
• Obtain prior authorizations for specialty medications and therapies.
• Document patient interactions and insurance information in the EMR.
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and internal teams to resolve coverage issues.
