Required: JD from an accredited law school and active PA license, with strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Prior experience in complex defense matters is preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active Pennsylvania law license.
• Ability to independently manage complex matters.
• Strong legal research/writing and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Develop case strategy, draft pleadings/motions/briefs/discovery, conduct and defend depositions.
• Handle court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, trial preparation.
• Take ownership of significant litigation matters with minimal supervision.
• Maintain relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, self-insured entities, and corporate clients.
• Help expand the firm's insurance defense presence in Western Pennsylvania.
