Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking an Insurance Credit Specialist for a remote role, supporting our Health Support Center team. The position focuses on reviewing and analyzing insurance accounts and credit balances, communicating with payers to obtain information, and ensuring timely refund processing.

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing explanation of benefits (EOBs) from various payers.
• One year of experience in insurance billing/follow up for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 codes.

Responsibilities

• Resolves patient and insurance credit balance refunds.
• Researches and resolves unapplied cash activity accounts.
• Documents requests or concerns on the patient’s account via mail, email, phone or in person.
• Responds to insurance companies and patients for refunds within 30 days of receipt.
• Identifies the root causes of refund needs and reports recurring issues to management.
• Corrects errors in insurance contractual adjustments calculations and postings.
• Maintains confidentiality of PHI and adheres to policies and procedures.
